Data Retention
TagFinder stores sensor data, position history, alert history, and compliance records. Retention policies determine how long this data is kept.
Default retention
Pro plans include 1 year of data retention for sensor and position data. Compliance reports (HACCP, GDP) are retained for 2 years minimum, as required by EU regulations.
Custom retention (Enterprise)
Enterprise customers can configure custom retention periods per data type. For example, keep raw sensor data for 6 months but compliance reports for 5 years. This is configured at the organization level.
Data deletion
When data reaches the end of its retention period, it is automatically purged. Organizations can also request early deletion of all their data (right to erasure under GDPR). Deletion is irreversible and confirmed via email.
Retention policies apply to operational data. Audit logs have their own retention period and are not affected by data deletion requests.
